For 2-9 month-old puppies

Set your puppy up for a lifetime of success with our comprehensive 5-week foundation course. This class combines vital confidence-building with essential basic obedience and structured socialization to prevent behavioral challenges as your puppy grows. As a handler, you will gain the lifelong skills needed to support your dog through any novel scenario and future classes.

Class details & schedule

• Duration: 5 weeks (1 hour per week)
• Orientation: The first class is a human-only orientation (do not bring your dog).
• Socialization: A goal of ending class with a 10-15 minute supervised off-leash play session depending on size and temperament of the dogs.

What we cover

• Confidence Building: Exposure to novel surfaces, objects, and everyday scenarios.
• Core Obedience: Cues including Sit, lay, and Stand.
• Target Training: Nose targets for reliable recall and paw targets for place behavior.
• Leash Skills: Foundations for loose-leash walking.
• Handling: Cooperative care and husbandry training for ears,  tails, paws, and mouths.
